July. 4th/06

So, we are back from Spokane!! (Happy Fourth of July!! Marilyn, Ray & Bryan!) It was aother busy trip of getting lots done, but we need to say a big thank you to both of our families for all of their help! This trip down to the States, we picked up a beautiful crib and mattress, a really nice pack 'n' play (playpen) a diaper genie, a mattress pad cover, and the exact bedding we wanted!! Oh yeah, we also picked up the new flooring for the baby's room as well!! This trip was a bit tiring, but it feels so good to have mostly everything done!!
As for today...Another pre-natal appt. with my new doctor. It went well. In the last four weeks I have only gained .9 of a pound!! I was a bit concerned, but she told me that I am not too skinny nor too fat, so to not worry about it at all! OK!! I won't! It is also that time to get tested for gestational diabetes, which will require yet another needle, as well as check my hemoglobin and thyroid! Wow! You sure get lots of tests done when you are pregnant! Oh well...whatever works I guess! Anyhow, I hope that you all had a very nice Canada Day weekend!
Take care,
~Coral

So another two weeks has past, and it's time for yet another picture. I did want to wish Emily a "Happy FIRST Birthday!!" Hope everyone is doing well!

Quick visit with Brandy & James!! (June.25/06)

It was great, even though short...to have a little lunch with Brandy & James in Castlegar, on their way back home from Cranbrook!! So glad we could meet up guys! Brandy...You look terrific!

Riondel ~ June 24th/06

Well, as "The Bump" continues to grow, and simple movements become harder to do, we thought we'd head out camping last night before it became to uncomfortable. The funny thing is, I thought my difficulty would be in getting in and out of the tent...It wasn't as bad as I thought...I found that the hardness of the air matress was the biggest deal. My hips are still recovering! Anyhow, here are a couple pics that Ian took...

June.18th/06 (Father's Day)

Well Happy Father's day to all of you father's out there! We (Ian, Kita & I) were in Cranbrook for the weekend, and it was really nice to see the people we got to see. It never seems like we have enough time...So Rhiannon, Shannon, Greg & Donna, I am so sorry we didn't get to see you!! I will be back next month though. We were there less than 48 hours, and it was also Nan's (my grandmother) b-day...So it was way too busy this weekend. Anyway...here are a couple of cute pictures that I took in the midst of the chaos.

24 Weeks

Well, I went for another prenatal visit yesterday, and I found out that the ultrasound results were good, and that all my tests have come back! They all look good. The down side of my appointment, I found out that the doctor I was hoping for, to deliver (mine does not) is no longer taking any new paitents because his work load has increased considerably in the last little while. Anyway, here is a picture of me...two weeks since the last one....Oh yeah, did I mention....I've gained ten pounds in the last four weeks?? Ha ha! Oh well...I guess I shouldn't complain...that puts me at a total of 3 pounds above the weight I started at pre-pregnancy, and I'm...6 months along! Not bad....

People on drugs make STUPID decisions!

That title probably got your attention huh?!! Well as it is, yesterday, Ian, Kita, and myself were down at Sadie's. Kita and Oso (Sadie's dog) were playing in the back yard. We were all sitting up on the deck just talking and watching them play, when all of the sudden this guy sorta appears from the alley. (Her back yard opens onto the alley)
Because Sadie's neighbor was outside, I sorta thought maybe he knew who this guy was...because they guy kept coming closer into the yard (closer to where we were sitting) rough-housing with Kita. Kita had started out barking at the guy, and because we all assumed that this guy must know one of us, we called Kita back. Well then the guy got closer to the ground, and started throwing his hands in her face!! Kita started growling and showing her teeth, and I was getting worried. I kept saying (in as loud of voice as I could...ha ha) "Ian she is going to bite him!!"
Ian stood up on the deck and said "That's enough guy." And this guy looks up at Ian and says "Oh, sorry man." We thought it was all over then, but then he reached down with his water bottle and tried to hit Kita in the face with it!!! So of course Kita was freaking out, and it took Ian pushing the guy away from Kita and saying "Get out of here!!" before he left! It was crazy and scary...Kita was just doing her job protecting us, and here this guy kept antagonizing her!
Lesson to be learned: People on drugs make STUPID decisions!

June.8th~2nd Ultrasound

This appointment went much better than the last. The hospital has a new machine, which took clearer pictures (Not that you'll really be able to tell.) During this ultrasound, the tech showed me the baby's heart, and all four chambers were opening and closing! It was pretty cool. I am still not sure if Ian was more excited to see the new $250,000.00 ultrasound machine, or his baby!! (Just kidding.)All in all, a much better day than last. Oh yeah...With this new machine, instead of getting the usual two pictures, we got a CD with seven on them!! Have a look...
P.S.
I forgot to mention, the baby's heartbeat was beating @ 160 beats per minute, and is weighing in at 1lb 3ozs.

Baby movement...

Yesterday was the first time Ian felt the baby move!! It is still something I am getting used to, it's such an amazing and weird feeling all at once! I tell you, it feels as though aliens have taken over my body when I look down and see my stomach jump! Other than that, I don't have much new to say...Hope you are all well! Here's a couple pics of the other day...

22 Weeks...

For all you "Tummy Obsessed"....Here it is! Growing like a weed.

P.S.
I forgot to mention...This past Sunday (May.28/06) I finally started to feel the baby move. I was just laying down to go to sleep, and I felt a tiny "flutter." The way I think of it is...like the bubbles in a can of pop. When you pour the pop in a glass and you watch the bubbles rise, that's how it feels for me. Maybe that sounds strange, but that was my best attempt to explain! Anyhow, hope you are all doing well!
Take care,

Scary moment....

Ian and I just got back from taking Kita for a walk, down at the "Dog Walk." For those of you who aren't familiar with the "Dog Walk" it's a nice little walk here in Nelson, along the water where dogs are allowed to tear around off leash and just enjoy themselves.
We had decided we wanted to take her down there tonight for a quick little walk to see how high the water is. It is very high!! Anyhow, just as we are ending our walk, Kita runs out on this piece of cement, which because the water is so high right now is even with the water...and she fell in. I never even saw her fall in, I just heard her trying to get out...without even thinking I tore out there myself and grabbed her out of the water. Needless to say Ian is breathing better now that we are all out of "harms way." What a scary moment, but it wasn't until after I had got her out of the water that I burst into tears!
Anyhow, we're all fine...but thought I would share that interesting story with all of you. I think I might go back down tomorrow and take some pictures of the water level.
Take care,
Coral

May long weekend

This past weekend Ian, KIta, and I went to Spokane. We bought the new flooring for the baby's room which we are thrilled about! And it was even on sale (which never seems to happen!) Yay! We found a lot of great things at Baby Depot! Next month when we go back to pick up the flooring (they have to order it in) we're definatley hitting there again! So many things to do in such a short time left us feeling quite tired, but nothing like soaking (legs only) in the hot tub!! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Baby Colgur ~ The first pictures....

So... I don't take very clear pictures...The ultrasound tech couldn't get a clear picture of the baby's heart, so I'll have to go for another ultrasound. Not sure when yet, we'll find out soon. So the answer to everyone's question...It is just the one. When we get the new pictures, I'll post those for you all.
Take care,

Tomorrow's the BIG DAY!!!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a little news with you. I went to the doctor today, and my doctor now thinks (after seeing me) that it is just the one. After losing the initial 12 pounds, I have (in the last month) put on 4 1/2!! So I am doing good! I am ok with having one baby at a time, although I really had started to get my hopes up that we'd be having twins. However, I just hope for a healthy & of course happy baby...one who enjoys SLEEPING!! (ha ha ha) Anyway, Ian is taking the day off work tomorrow and is SO excited for the ultrasound....A first look at our baby!!!
Keep you all updated!
Love, Coral, Ian, Kita & baby.

P.S. Just so you know, as soon as the site I am needing is back up and running, there'll be a section where you can post your comments if you want to.

Update

So, today's date is Tuesday May, 9th /06. What is so exciting about this date? Well, it means there is only one week today to find out if Ian and I will be the parents of TWINS!! That's right, for all of you who don't know, my doctor thought she may have heard two hearbeats last month! So we are looking forward to our ultrasound!! ~Stay tuned...
As for how I am feeling these days, pretty good other than the headaches. Still can't go off the medication, but I have way more energy that I did earlier...Kita is much appreciative! So we are out for lots of walks...
And the big question....my tummy just sorta "popped" overnight this past weekend. It is still qute small, but there is actually small signs that this hasn't been a dream.
Take care...
