Passport Photo...

Our little munchkin went to get his passport photo taken yesterday...The lady was amzed at how well Chase sat for his picture. I of course had to steady him, but he sat and looked straight ahead! He did so well, and the picture turned out pretty darn cute! I took a picture of the picture, so it is a bit brighter than it actually is, but you get the idea!

My Angel...Returned?!!

Chase is still having a bit of difficulty going to sleep at night, (but that has gotten better too) but he seems to be sleeping better...I am so thankful. Although it never even got as bad as some people have it. (At this point my mom would like to remind me, or anyone that would listen...That I never slept through the night untilI was five, and I consistantly woke her up between 3-8 times a night, while she had to get up and go to work only four months after having me!) You know I love you mom... ;)

Anyhow here are a couple pics of the little guy...(While his cheeks aren't flaming!)

OH MY!!! ~ Did I speak too soon??!!

Well, I am always bragging about how Chase sleeps from 10-12 hours a night, and has for quite some time...Is it teeth? Is it a dreadful change? What is it?

The last two nights, Chase has been really hard to get down at night (which is also very strange!) And then through the night, (on Sunday) he woke up twice crying for a couple of minutes, and then back to sleep. Last night same thing...He normally goes to sleep @ 8:00, and then wakes up between 6-8am. Well last night he didn't go down until 8:45, woke up crying at 12:15. I went in and rubbed his forehead and he went back to sleep, then he woke up again around 7:00, (or so I thought) so, I went in to get him and he was crying in his sleep!! Poor little guy! His cheeks do seem to be a bit rosier than usual...but I have said that before...I guess well wait and see...
Oh yeah...One more thing. To date...Chase has eaten bananas, apple sauce, (unsweetened of course) sweet potato, and avocado. (That is the order in which he likes them too, but if you put a little apple sauce in with the avacodo (EWWWW) he likes that too!

Another Sunday Afternoon in Proctor

The sun came out after all yesterday, so Ian and I packed up the kids and headed out to Proctor for a walk along the beach in the warm sun! Kita was happy to go, after all se found some old (dry) bones to roll on...And Chase enjoyed the sights & the fresh air!

Since Mom & Dad bought the back pack to carry me in, we are ALWAYS out walking! And I really love it. I watch Kita run and play, I watch the trees swaying in the wind...I really like to check things out...These pictures Dad took of Mom and I right after we got back the other night!

Our Monday night walk....

My previous post ended with how I was going to take Kita and Chase out for a walk, and we did! But boy did it ever turn out to be an awful experience!

For those of you better acquainted with our great little town, there is a place here called the "dog walk" this place is a nice walk along the water where dogs are allowed to roam free and play around...(assuming that you have control of your dog)

This is normally a good thing, letting your dog burn off energy, get lots of "great" smells, and generally have a good time mingling with all the other dogs. Unfortunately as we were ending our walk and heading up by the marina we saw a dog coming with it's owners...The dog we saw coming, had attacked both Kita and our friend Sadie's dog, "Oso" before! I noticed that their dog (a purebred Akita...Yoshiko) was leashed, and I told Sadie & Ian to leash the dogs right away. No sooner had I said that and Yoshiko's owner unleashed her, and she came charging at Kita. I yelled (well...I guess I am not much of a yeller these days) to unleash Kita, so she could get away. But of course Kita was unlucky and the Akita pinned her down by the neck! It was awful listening to your dog yelp and cry...(keeping in mind I had Chase in a pack on my back, leaving me pretty much helpless)...Ian (this was sort of out of a movie) picked the Akita off of Kita, and threw it! Thank goodness we haven't shaved Kita yet, and she was ok...However, in the midst of all that, when Ian grabbed Yoshiko, (covering his face with his arm) the dog bit him! This all resorted in a trip not only to the police station, but to the hospital as well for Ian!

Long story short ~ Yoshiko has a file on her now, and if there are ANY other reports on this dog attacking it will be deemed vicious. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE dogs...and I didn't sleep Monday night, as I was SO worried that these people might end up having to put their dog down...I was SICK about it...But I keep thinking, what if Chase was at the age where he was walking....what if he had been walking next to Kita when the dog attacked...no doubt he would have been hurt! What if Kita had been shaved down, the dog surely would have done some damage...I am so glad that Ian is ok to...This dog bit him through a thick jacket, I'll post the pics...I would hate to see what that dog would have done if there were no jacket either. I truly understand...some might consider you a tad bit "crazy" to break up a dog fight, but tell me this...Would you not do the same if your dog was pinned to the ground, crying and yelping?!! I know Kita isn't an angel, but #1. She's 7 in May, and this dog is not even 2....and #2. This dog outweighs her by at LEAST 30lbs!!

I guess the thing that bugged me the very most, is the owner then came yelling at Ian for throwing their dog...Not once was there an apology for what their dog did to ours...

Oh WOW....

Well this weekend we had a visit from Uncle Bryan. We didn't do a whole lot else, but Chase finished it off with going to bed @ 8:00pm on Sunday night and sleeping through until 8:30am this morning! That's right everyone....the little guy slept 12 & 1/2 hours!!
I'll post a picture of Chase with his Uncle Bryan a little later on...Gotta take the kids out for a walk!

The Big Dilema...

When to start solids.....

Well, this has been a concern of mine for awhile...Will he have allergies, will he take to it...etc, etc.
Well, as it was yesterday, (Mar.7/07) I had to go for a c/t scan. I had not been told by my doctor that they were going to inject the radio-active ink into me, therefore leaving me unable to nurse Chase! Luckily for me I nursed him right before going in to the hospital in Trail...(an hour away!!)
Needless to say I figured I might as well try Chase with some banana last night...Seen as how lately everytime I eat or drink something near him, his lips start smacking & he reaches for it!! So far, he LOVES it!! Phew...Next week we'll try avacodo...

Another amazing first...

I never thought this to be much of a milestone, until I spoke with my mom today and she was so excited!When I go in to get Chase in the morning from his crib, he gives the "usual smile" and then I ask him if he wants up, and he holds up his arms! I guess when I think of it, it is pretty impressive... But you have to know....I already think he is the smartest little boy!!

Chase takes after Mom!??! (He likes to sleep too)

Well, another sleep record broken @ only four & a half months old! Last night Chase broke his record by half an hour! He slept for 11 & 1/2 hours!! ~So lucky....So, so lucky!!~
