These pictures turned out quite well in reality, After scanning them, they don't look as great! In this picture of just Chase, he spotted a hockey stick at the store, and had a FIT until he could have it again, that is why he is in the picture with it! Whatever makes the kid smile for his pictures!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

I thought for sure this year, Chase would be a little nervous of Santa, but he wasn't! He sat right on his lap, and was quite content to suck away on a candy cane while we took pictures! We never did take Chase down to the mall for pictures with Santa, but we were certainly lucky to have Santa make a special stop at my parents to see him!

This year, Chase wasn't overly excited to open presents, other than ripping bows off. He was however, very impressed with the lights. He tried to take those off the tree. He also made up a new game called "Tree Ornament Bowling." He would grab the round ball type ornaments off the tree and throw them down the hallway!

Chase...SWIMMING!

So here is a video of Chase showing off his talents he learned in swimming lessons. He has "passed" his "starfish" & is able to continue on to "duck." Just so you know, Chase normally goes a bit further under water before being scooped up, but this was Dad's first time doing this with us, and he was a bit nervous!

Is it JUST me, or is he cute!?!?!?

I guess, even if you said it was just me, I wouldn't believe you...~Chase has figured out how to open & close the cd & dvd drives on the computer!~

If I were told to give you words to describe Chase they would include: Curious, independent, fearless, strong, smart, loving, tough, aware, beautiful, and...strong-willed.

There is no doubt in my mind, that when Chase wants something, he does not give up easily. However, he is still a really sweet boy with a wonderful temperament. I absolutely adore him!

You wouldn't believe it!!

Ok, but before I tell you what you won't believe, I have to start with the things that happened first in the day...

When I got Chase vaccinated the last time, the public health nurse was telling me about this "Toy lending library." What is that you ask? Well, it is a place that has toys of course, as well as books on parenting, and paints and craft things that you can buy at cost. Anyhow, what you do is pay $25 a year, and you borrow toys for up to a month at a time. (But you can change them as often as you like.) Anyhow, a friend of mine (Christine) and I went down to this place yesterday! Which, I have to tell you was great!!

There is this one toy that Chase looked at and played with every time we went to another store here in town, and let me tell you...When it was time to leave that store (and more importantly that toy) there was a temper tantrum!! (YIKES!!) What was this toy? A mini shopping cart! He loves pushing things around right now, and usually it's my chairs that are all over the house...Anyhow, to make a longer story shorter...At the toy lending library there was a shopping cart!! (The exact same one!!) Chase has been pushing it around, putting things in, taking things out, since we brought it home...he's really in his glory!!

YAY!!!

Alright, now that I have told you that story, the most amazing thing ever!!! Yesterday was Chase's fifth swimming lesson! (Only three more after this one.) And we have been learning since day one to submerge them, and last week (the last class before yesterday) We did a qucik second release under water! Ok, very exciting!! So last night.....(I am bursting with excitement!!)

CHASE SWAM UNDER WATER TOWARDS ME!!!!!

It just so happened to be, that when Chase had just finished swimming to me, I looked up after pulling him up, and I looked up and Ian had seen it! Ian was cheering and clapping, and had the biggest grin on his face!! It was fantastic!!! I almost would say that if I didn't see him do it myself, it would be hard to believe, but it did happen, and I was...AM so proud of him!!!

Santa Claus is coming to town...

Today is my neice, Makayla's third birthday! Happy Birthday Makayla!! I can hardly believe it, and then I think, right... Chase is already one! Where does the time go???

Anyhow, last night Santa came to Nelson to light up the trees on Baker street. This is the first time I had seen it happen. Santa arrived in fashion...He came down Baker street in a fire truck, and then he was lifted in the crane up to the tree to throw "magical dust" on it, and PRESTO the tree lights up! The kids sure were excited to see Santa. I think what excited Chase the most was the fire truck...

Although he has a bit of a cold, and a snotty nose...I thought it was still pretty cute. In this picture, I put on the ABC video Chase has, and he sits and watches the entire thing (25-30 minutes) He really loves it!?? He gets a little annoyed if you try and talk to him while it's on!

Marilyn came for a visit!

Marilyn (Ian's mom) came up this weekend for some quality time with Chase. Chase is getting over the cold he caught from his dad, but I think they still had a lot of fun!

Swimming Lessons...

Chase and I have been to two swimming lesson so far. We started on Monday (of this week.) Christine and her daughter Mattaya, and Christine's friend Marlo with her son Griffin are in it as well. It's pretty fun. Chase really is a bit of a comedian...Every time I try to submerge him, he decideds to open his mouth wide, therefore getting a big mouthful of water!! (This is even after the blowing in his face to get him to hold his breath!!!) He comes up spurting and coughing, and then breaks in to a laugh!! Ahhhh!!! Crazy kid!! Oh well, I guess we'll see what happens at the next class!

I'll post some pictures later, although I still don't have any of him at his lessons!!

It'll be the two year anniversary of losing my sister next month, and although I understand that I am certainley not the first person to go through that, it somehow doesn't make it any easier...So, to all of you who have also lost someone you loved very deeply....This song...

So many cute things....

Chase has been doing so many adorable things lately, I just can't believe the little personality emerging!! He certainly has his fair share of not-so-cute temper tantrums (like when the vacuum cleaner gets put away!) But he is quite happy most of the time...
He has been increasing his vocabulary lately...Now he says "Uh-oh, day,day" for "Oops a daisy", he says "Ba" for "ball", "Ba-ba" for "baby" Umm, what else...He says "Waaa -waa" for "Quack Quack" (when you ask him what a duck says....and then of course he says "Nooooo Noooo." I know that all parents say to expect big things from their children, but really...expect big things from Chase....He is brilliant! We're working on naming body parts, but true to being a boy...You ask him where his nose is, and sometimes sticks his finger up it!!! Does that count?? Ha ha ha...We are also working on playing catch, that doesn't seem to be the easiest thing though! Oh well, it is a lot of fun!!! Anyhow, I am going to go and watch Private Practice!! So I'll add pictures later!

Happy 33rd Birthday Ian!

Today is Ian's 33rd birthday...Which, when I say that...seems so weird. I can remember way back when, my sister turned 21 (I was 15) and I thought she was SO old...Funny how things change....

Enjoying the sunny days...

The last few days have been filled with sunshine, and are quite crisp...But we have taken advantage of it and got out for some nice walks, photo ops, and yesterday we enjoyed taking Chase to Ainsworth Hot springs for the first time! Although I never managed to get a picture of Chase in the hot springs, we do have a picture of afterwards...It sure tuckered him right out!! He loved the water so much that as soon as he hit the water, his arms were slapping the water like crazy & he was kicking his legs under the water...(It sort of resembled a fish out of water) He was just SO excited!!!

1 Year Shots... :(

Yesterday we went for Chase's one year shots. Normally they give four needles at this apt. (One in each appendage) but we decided to only give him three and then three the next time instead of four and then two. We are waiting to give him the chicken pox vaccine. (Not to mention, because we are going to Mexico in April, we also got his Hep. A Vaccine last Saturday!!) I must say though, last weekend, when he got his Hep.A. vaccine, and for his 6 month shots he didn't even cry at all. Yesterday he did, but not much...and he calmed right down when I shook the Tic-Tac container for him!! I never did get the actual weight and height for Chase yesterday, I forgot...But the public health nurse did say that he is still in the 90 percentile for his height, & just above the 70 percentile for his weight! She too commented on what a happy boy he was, and also how clearly...my lack of voice was definitely NOT a factor the development of his voice! ;)

So there you have it everyone, Chase is still a happy, healthy big boy!! (Did I mention...adorable!? I probably won't get away with saying such "Mom" things for too much longer...I have to get it all in now...)

I forgot to mention, as of now, Chase has had four haircuts!! I am sure that doesn't REALLY matter to any of you, but I was just so amazed! As soon as I starting "buzzing" it, it grows like a weed! All of those haircuts have been from July onward!! Pretty crazy!
